Based on the semi-autobiographical novel by fabulous former club kid James St. James, Freak Show stars newcomer Alex Lawther in a terrific performance as proudly gender-fluid teen Billy Bloom. Director Trudie Styler guides a stellar cast, including Abigail Breslin, Laverne Cox, Ian Nelson, and the Divine Miss M, Bette Midler, as Billy’s beloved, but distant mother, in this hilarious and heartwarming coming-of-age tale.
