“Understanding Complementary Therapies”
Individuals living with HIV and their caregivers often explore therapies beyond allopathic (“Western”) medicine and anti-HIV prescription drugs to improve their health and feelings of wellness. ThRivE invites individuals living with HIV to a peer discussion of complementary therapies including acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine and dietary supplements, and yoga. We will also hear from Derrick Jackson of Sign of Jonah Partnerships in Health, a DC organization providing affordable Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, Western Herbal Medicine, Reiki, Flower Essences and Holistic Lifestyle Coaching.
