Join us for a speculative Fiction Reading featuring Craig L. Gidney, Steve Berman, Rahul Kanakia & Ruthanna Emrys. This event is part of OutWrite, a 3-day festival and celebration of LGBT literature, authors, writers, and poets. For more information, visit the Facebook page.
Featured writers:
Craig Laurance Gidney writes both contemporary and genre fiction. He is the author of the collections Sea, Swallow Me & Other Stories (Lethe Press, 2008), Skin Deep Magic (Rebel Satori Press, 2014), and the Young Adult novel Bereft (Tiny Satchel Press, 2013).
Steve Berman is an American editor, novelist and short story writer. He is the most prolific editor in the field of queer speculative fiction alive today, responsible for over twenty-five anthologies in that field alone.
Rahul Kanakia is the author of ENTER TITLE HERE. His short stories have been published in Clarkesworld, The Indiana Review, Lightspeed, and Nature. Rahul lives in Berkeley, California, where he works as an international development consultant.
Ruthanna Emrys’s neo-Lovecraftian stories “The Litany of Earth” and “Those Who Watch” are available on Tor.com, along with the distinctly non-Lovecraftian “Seven Commentaries on an Imperfect Land” and “The Deepest Rift.” Winter Tide, a novel continuing Aphra Marsh’s story from “Litany,” is now available from Macmillan’s Tor.com imprint. Ruthanna can frequently be found online on Twitter and Dreamwidth, and offline in a mysterious manor house with her large, chaotic household—mostly mammalian—outside Washington DC.
