48 years after the riots that started the LGBTQ movement, we gather to tell that story and share what Pride means today.
On Wednesday, June 28 at 8pm, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Silver Spring will host a Stonewall Commemoration featuring music, speakers, and a chance to share reflections on Pride.
During this event, volunteers will read the story of the Stonewall riots to educate those who are not familiar with the origins of Pride. Musical guests include the UUCSS House Band, tenor Patrick Cook, and pianist Jim Paoletti. Rev. Jill McCrory of Twinbrook Baptist Church and the founder of the MoCo Pride Center will offer the keynote.
Keynote: Rev. Jill McCrory, pastor of Twinbrook Baptist Church and leader
of the Visionary Board for Montgomery County Pride Center.
Music: Patrick Cook, tenor with the Washington National Opera Chorus
& faculty of NOVA Community College, plus UUCSS House Band
